How Craftezy Aims To Improve The Livelihood Of Handicraft Artisans
The Indian arts and crafts industry depends entirely on the skills of the craftsmen. However, these skills can only help the artisans sustain if they receive apt compensation for their efforts.
What’s the disconnect? How can technology help? What roles do Start-ups like Craftezy play in creating a platform capable of providing credible solutions? Let’s dive deep to understand the restrictions and solutions that technology and startups bring to the handicraft trade table which in the long run will help the people behind the handicrafts

The Artisans Struggle

What if the artisans could directly access the market and sell their products? Not only would this ensure they benefit directly but their products would be accessible to a larger audience. The idea is to merge the traditional with the contemporary to help the sellers tap global markets.
Tech-enabled B2B marketplaces such as Craftezy, are gradually providing these artisans a platform to present their artifacts to a global audience at zero costs. They are enabling a bundle of other services like free catalog management, logistics assistance, payment security, along with international market access — all this while adding no additional burden on their business operations. They are trying to focus on multiple pain points, while simultaneously boosting the morale of artisans.  Â
Start-ups are coming up with relevant channels for selling crafts that are innovative and consciously made. The community is trying to redirect the attention to the handicraft sector because they contribute to the economy too . Today, with technology impacting almost every aspect of our lives, it’s time it makes a difference in the lives of artisans too.

Artisans crafting their destiny

Craftezy’s initiatives

Craftezy Cares is an initiative by Craftezy that is inclined toward giving back to the community. By providing support to the artisans when they need it the most, Craftezy aims to not just support Indian manufacturers and suppliers in selling handicrafts to global markets but also help these artisans while doing the same. secure their and their family’s future by creating a support network that they have access to easily.
By giving local artisans international exposure, it aims to secure the tradecraft and help the industry grow. The Indian handicraft styles and techniques are extremely unique and few have been practiced for generations. These techniques and methods tend to stay lost if the right support is not given.Â
